Ook kan de aangemaakte biest van onvoldoende kwaliteit zijn. In deze gevallen kan Excellent Colostrum ingezet worden als verrijking of vervanging. In combinatie met een minder hoge kwaliteit biest, of een biestvervanger zonder of met plantaardig vet, kan dit zorgen dat het kalf een slechte start maakt. Om de Brixwaarde van de biest met één procentpunt te verhogen, moet er 25 gram Excellent Colostrum per liter biest worden toegevoegd. Onvoldoende biest: Los 500 gram Excellent Colostrum op in 1500 ml lauwwarm water (43 tot 48 °C) en roer tot een homogene oplossing ontstaat. Verstrek op lichaamstemperatuur (38 °C) met een speenfles, bij voorkeur binnen 6 tot 12 uur na de geboorte. Vervangend: Los 1000 gram Excellent Colostrum op in 3000 ml lauwwarm water en roer tot een homogene oplossing ontstaat. Verstrek op lichaamstemperatuur (38 °C) met een speenfles, bij voorkeur binnen 2 uur na de geboorte. Vertrek voor een optimale biestvoorziening na 12 uur nogmaals 500 gram Excellent Colostrum, opgelost in 1500 ml lauwwarm water. Bijvoeren: Verstrek het kalf ter ondersteuning van de darmontwikkeling en plaatselijke weerstand tweemaal daags 50 gram Excellent Colostrum gedurende 3 tot 14 dagen. Bij volle melk door de melk mengen; bij kunstmelk kan een gedeelte van de poeder worden vervangen door Excellent Colostrum.
