A healthy goat eats well, chews the cud calmly, has bright eyes and a glossy coat. This collection helps you keep it that way with care products and aids, not with medicines. You will find vitamin gel, energy products for around kidding, a pill giver, an applicator and disbudding equipment. For diagnosis and treatment, your vet remains the point of contact.
Look daily, feel weekly
Many problems in goats creep in gradually. Check daily that every goat is eating and chewing the cud and that the droppings are normal. Once a week, feel over the back and ribs to assess condition, and look at the lining of the eye: a pale colour can point to anaemia, for example from stomach worms. If you see that, a faecal sample gives certainty; your vet decides what is needed next. We do not sell wormers.

Disbudding: rules first
In the Netherlands, disbudding goat kids is subject to rules, including on anaesthesia, pain relief, age and who may carry out the procedure; many other countries have similar rules, so check what applies where you live. Always consult your vet beforehand. A disbudding iron is a professional device that takes practice; the Cosmos is mainly intended for farms and vets who disbud regularly.
Choosing and what to watch for
Choose an energy or vitamin product for the moment it is intended for, and read the label before use. A bolus must suit the weight and age of the animal. Keep a small care box to hand with gloves, a pill giver and a thermometer, so you do not have to search when a goat looks ill.
