Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range, grass-fed buffaloes. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle growth and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

These ingredients support the natural processes in a dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced through the use of herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Segugio Italiano. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and FCI breed group to which the Segugio Italiano belongs. Based on this research, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Segugio Italiano.
Basil
Basil is a genus in the mint family. The name comes from Ancient Greek, where "basileus" means king; therefore, an alternative name is king's herb. It originally occurs between central Africa and Southeast Asia.
According to traditional medicine, basil was used to treat conditions such as arthritis, bronchitis, colds, stomach ulcers, heart disease, and stomach aches. Research has shown that basil possesses strong antioxidant, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. In addition, basil can promote digestion, aid in waste removal, and have antispasmodic and calming effects on dogs.
Blueberry
Blueberries belong to the heath family of plants and grow mainly in open forests in the Northern Hemisphere. The plant has long been used in traditional European medicine and is known for its purported positive effects on gastrointestinal diseases and diabetes.
Blueberries can be added to dog food because they are rich in antioxidants, which protect the body against free radicals. In addition, they contain good fiber for digestion and are rich in vitamins C and K. They could support the immune system and contribute to the overall health of the dog.
Cranberry
The cranberry is a plant from the heath family. In the Netherlands, this plant is mainly found on the Wadden Islands and is very rare in the rest of the country. Originally, the plant comes from North America and is believed to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.
Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost for dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which helps maintain healthy levels of vital fluids in the body. They are also packed with vitamins A, B, and C, and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes the urine more acidic, making the bladder environment less attractive to bacteria. Puppy, adult, or senior?
To help you choose the right variant of Segugio Italiano dog food, please use the following guidelines. If your Segugio Italiano is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Segugio Italiano older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Segugio Italiano Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Transfer advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Allow your dog two days to adjust. Next, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. Again, allow your dog two or three days to adjust. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost completely switched over to Yourdog. Do this for two days. After this, you can decide to feed 100% Yourdog Segugio Italiano dog food.
Storage instructions
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it's important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container in a dry, cool, and dark place. It's best not to put the food loose in the container, but to place the entire bag, tightly closed, inside.
