Our ingredients
To make our food, we dry-cure 10.6 kg of meat for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to incorporate into our kibble. With the right amounts of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-raised, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh flavor and rich color, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together give our kibble its delicious flavor and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry promote healthy muscle growth and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide your dog with extra valuable nutrients, we've added super-healthy vegetables to our food. This means vegetables are not only nutritious but also offer other health benefits. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, providing your dog with all the essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be beneficial for your dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath and healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote your dog's overall health.
Spices
The healthy herbs that enrich our food are derived from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and seaweed, among other things, goes back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its beneficial properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, specific ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Argentine dog specific vegetables, herbs and fruits
We carefully examined the breed characteristics of the Dogo Argentino. We also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Dogo Argentino belongs. Based on this research, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, we selected ingredients that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Dogo Argentino.
Chamomile
Chamomile is a genus in the Asteraceae family. It is widely cultivated in Hungary and Eastern Europe. It also grows wild throughout Europe. The name chamomile comes from a Greek word meaning "ground apple" and refers to its apple-like scent. Chamomile has an excellent reputation in natural medicine.
We can add chamomile to Yourdog dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the stomach, intestines, skin, rheumatism, nerves, inflammation, and urinary tract.
Chamomile can have a mild calming effect on dogs and could therefore be used for dogs that often experience stress. It can also have a positive effect on dogs with nervous digestion, as it can have antispasmodic and antiseptic properties.
Raspberries
The raspberry is a plant in the rose family and belongs to the Rubus genus. Raspberries have been cultivated since the Middle Ages and are native throughout Europe.
Raspberries contain many nutrients that can support your dog's health, such as vitamins like vitamin C, minerals like manganese, and antioxidants. Furthermore, raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in beneficial fiber.
Raspberry is added to our dog food for its anti-inflammatory properties and can contribute positively to immune system function. Raspberries can also help maintain vision and a healthy cardiovascular system.
Celery
Celery is a plant in the Apiaceae family. It's often found growing on wet ground along the coast.
Celery is rich in vitamins A, C, and K, and also contains plenty of folate and potassium. It's also fat-free, high in fiber, and very low in calories.
We add celery to our dog food because it can positively contribute to supporting your dog's immune system and digestion. It can also have a positive effect on their skin and coat, muscle and nerve function (via vitamin A), and maintaining strong bones (via vitamin K).
Puppy, adult or senior?
To help you make the right choice between our Argentine Dogue dog food options, you can use the following guidelines. If your Argentine Dogue is under 11 months old, choose the Puppy variety. Switching advice
If you're switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. First, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Your dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It's important to let your dog get used to this for two or three days as well. Then, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Continue this for two days. After this, you can switch to 100% Yourdog Argentine dog food at your own discretion.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and flavor. Therefore, it's important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or barrel in a dry, cool, and dark place. It's best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place the entire bag inside, sealing it as tightly as possible.
