How do you properly measure the trunk of your car?
To ensure the Trixie Aluminum Transport Box fits in your car, it's important to measure accurately. Start by emptying your trunk so you can measure from the floor unobstructed. Use a tape measure (preferably a steel or digital one) and note the following three dimensions:

Trunk depth : Measure from the back of the rear seat (right against the seat) to the lowest point of the tailgate. Note: Measure straight across the floor, not diagonally upwards against the rear window.

Width between the wheel arches : measure the narrowest internal dimension on the floor from left to right. Many cars have wheel arches that protrude slightly, which limits the effective width. Therefore, don't measure higher up in the trunk, but across the floor.

Opening height : Measure the distance from the floor to the bottom of the trunk lid when closed. Be careful with cars with a slanted rear window or spoilers – this can limit the available height and clearance.
Want to be absolutely sure? Mark the outside dimensions of the box on the floor of your trunk with masking tape, or use a box with roughly the same dimensions. Also, keep the box's beveled sides in mind: these allow it to fit closer to the back seat, but may require a little extra height or depth at the top, depending on the angle of your rear window.
Do you drive a hybrid or electric car with a double floor? Then check whether it affects the floor height. And finally, if in doubt, always measure twice – and don't forget that you also need some space to open the box door properly.
