Throughout history, large breeds have been bred for either strength or speed, resulting in two fundamentally different body types: robust and athletic. Recent research has shown that these two body types have very different characteristics, which influence nutritional needs even during growth. For example, robust large breeds tend to have more body fat and benefit from a lower calorie intake to prevent obesity. Athletic large breeds, on the other hand, expend more energy during daily activities and therefore require energy-rich food. Even when resting, athletic large breeds expend more energy than robust breeds.

Puppy Large Robust is specially formulated to meet the specific nutritional needs of large puppies (> 25 kg adult weight) aged 2 to 24 months with a robust build. Puppies of robust large breeds generally have a naturally slower metabolism (they use less energy) than athletic large breeds. This specially adapted food supports their robust build.

Nutrition during weaning and the growth process
During the first three weeks of life, the mother provides all the puppy's nutritional needs. For the next three to six weeks, give the puppy one serving of PRO PLAN® Puppy, diluted with water, three to four times a day. Once the puppy is no longer nursing, give the recommended amount. After three months, gradually reduce the amount of water. A lean body condition during the growth process is important for healthy development.

Instructions for use
Mix PRO PLAN® Puppy Large Breed Robust with water during the first few weeks to ease the transition from mother's milk. Gradually reduce the amount of water after 3 months. Check the daily feeding requirements on the package and adjust accordingly based on your puppy's growth and activity level.
