Description

The Dairy Energy Bolus is a bolus with a fast-acting part containing readily available glucogenic energy sources (propionates) and a long-acting part containing, among other things, live yeast, plant extracts, vitamins, trace elements and amino acids to support liver function and stimulate rumen activity. It thus provides multiple support to reduce the risk of ketosis.

Composition:
Glucose syrup, vegetable stearic acid, rapeseed oil, dicalcium phosphate and magnesium stearate.

Daily release (per bolus):
Fast-acting (dissolves within 8 h):
Propionates (from sodium and calcium propionate) 61 g
Vitamin A 91.200 IU
Vitamin E 1.025 mg
Long-acting (dissolves within 72 h):
Niacinamide 10.720 mg
Vitamin B12 315 μg
L-carnitine 333 mg
Plant extracts (milk thistle and artichoke) 5.000 mg
L-methionine 1.000 mg
Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNCM I-4407 4,0x10^9 CFU
Cobalt 5,2 mg
Selenium 2,1 mg

Feeding advice:
To reduce the risk of ketosis during the risk period from 3 weeks before to 6 weeks after calving:
Give 1 bolus preventively the day before or on the day of calving and repeat after a few hours.
During periods of increased energy demand, give 2 boluses per day for 2-3 days.
