Description
Animalintex Veterinary Poultice
Animalintex Veterinary Poultice is a well-known, respected and fully approved product that can be used for various purposes. For example, it is ideal for treating infected wounds, open wounds, mud fever, abscesses, laminitis and bruises. The poultice can be used cold or hot.
How it works
Animalintex contains boric acid and tragacanth. Boric acid minimises infection and supports faster healing. Tragacanth acts as a natural poultice that draws out dirt and infection, reduces inflammation and creates a moist, clean environment for healing. The dressing is made of medicated cotton wool, which absorbs pus and keeps infected fluid away from the body for a cleaner environment. The polythene backing keeps out external dirt and retains moisture and heat for faster healing.
How to use
Cut the dressing to size. Boil water, let it cool to 38°C, immerse the dressing and squeeze out the excess water. With infected pus, it is important that the dressing is damp and not wet, so that the pus can be absorbed. If the dressing is used cold, wait until the boiled water has cooled. Clean and dry the affected area, apply the dressing and secure it with a bandage. Replace the dressing at least every 12 hours and monitor the healing progress.
