The Ciobănesc Românesc Corb is an ancient Romanian herding dog breed specifically bred for guarding flocks and property. This breed is the result of crossbreeding the Carpathian Shepherd Dog with other local working dogs, with the goal of developing a powerful, intelligent, and loyal guard dog.
The breed is especially popular in the Carpathian Mountains and is prized for its alertness and ability to work independently. Despite its excellent working skills, it is a rare breed outside Romania.
Character and temperament
The Ciobănesc Românesc Corb is courageous, intelligent, and very loyal. It is reserved with strangers and protective of its family and territory. This breed has a balanced yet dominant personality and requires an experienced owner who can provide clear guidance.
Early socialization and obedience training are essential to ensure this dog gets along well with other animals and people. While it loves its family, it can be stubborn and requires consistent training.
