The Anglo-French Norman Hound is a versatile and energetic hunting breed originating from France. This breed was developed by crossing French scent hounds with English Foxhounds, resulting in a dog excellently suited for hunting small game. They are particularly valued for their stamina, intelligence, and ability to work in packs.

Character and Temperament

The Anglo-French Norman Hound is friendly, sociable, and eager to learn. They have a strong bond with their families and are generally gentle with children. However, this breed has a strong hunting instinct, meaning they often need focus during walks. They thrive in an active environment with sufficient mental and physical challenges.

Care

The short coat of the Anglo-French Norman Hound is easy to maintain. Weekly brushing helps remove loose hair and keeps the coat healthy. Check their ears regularly, as they can be prone to infections, especially after outdoor activities.

Movement and Activity

This breed needs a lot of exercise and is not suitable for a sedentary lifestyle. Long walks, scent games, and participation in dog sports such as tracking and agility are ideal for utilizing their energy levels and intelligence. A well-fenced garden is highly recommended.
