UVB, heat, or both?

The type of lamp you need depends on the animal and the type of terrarium. Many reptiles, such as bearded dragons and tortoises, need UVB lamps to stay healthy. Other species, such as nocturnal reptiles or amphibians, benefit more from soft, heat-emitting lamps. Often, a combination of both is ideal. Recommended combinations and care

For a fully furnished terrarium, we recommend always combining lamps with the correct terrarium substrate, a well-furnished terrarium, and sufficient hiding places and toys.
