Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range, grass-fed buffaloes. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle growth and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and seaweed, among other things, has its origins thousands of years ago. These ingredients support the natural processes in a dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced through the use of herbs, roots, flowers and plants.
Vizsla short-haired specific vegetables, herbs and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Vizsla Shorthair. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and FCI breed group to which the Vizsla Shorthair belongs. Based on this research, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, we have selected ingredients that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Vizsla Shorthair.
Fennel
Fenugreek, like the pea, is a plant in the legume family. The plant is also called foenegreek or "Greek hay". It originates from Mesopotamia and was already known in the Mediterranean region in antiquity. Today, fenugreek is also cultivated in Central Asia.
Fenugreek is rich in iron and copper. It contains saponins and coumarins, which may help with vein problems. Furthermore, it has anti-inflammatory properties (a natural anti-inflammatory) and promotes bile production.
Fennel can be added to the feed by us to prevent arthritis, asthma, and skin problems. The stomach and intestines also benefit from the positive effects of adding fennel, and it supports healthy digestion.
Chondroitin
Chondroitin occurs naturally in a dog's body and is one of the main components of cartilage tissue. In dogs, chondroitin is able to attract and retain moisture, which should provide a spongy cushioning effect in the cartilage.
Chondroitin improves cartilage flexibility and also has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. Furthermore, it stimulates the production of the building blocks necessary for healthy cartilage.
When chondroitin is given in combination with glucosamine, it supports and enhances the effect of glucosamine. Therefore, it is often given as a nutritional supplement for people and animals suffering from osteoarthritis.
Banana
The banana plant grows in tropical areas where the temperature does not fall below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that the banana was cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word "banaana" from the language of the Wolof people.
Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and B11 (folic acid), and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen the immune system. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a properly functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with hypertension, while magnesium can help relax muscles and promote bone growth. In addition, bananas contain a lot of good fiber and promote beneficial gut bacteria.
Puppy, adult, or senior?
To help you choose the right variant of our Vizsla short-haired dog food, please use the following guidelines. If your Vizsla short-haired dog is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Vizsla short-haired dog older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Vizsla short-haired senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Transfer advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another brand of dog food, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Allow your dog two days to adjust to this. Next, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. Again, allow your dog two or three days to adjust. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost completely switched over to Yourdog. Do this for two days. After this, you can feed 100% Yourdog Vizsla Short-haired dog food at your own discretion.
Storage instructions
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it's important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container in a dry, cool, and dark place. It's best not to put the food loose in the container, but to place the entire bag, tightly closed, inside.
