  • Direct Energy 4 x 67 g

    Direct Bolus Direct Energy 4 x 67 g

    Out of stock

Direct Energy Bolus is a complementary feed (dietetic mineral feed) for dairy cows designed to tackle the negative energy balance at its source and therefore achieve fast results. The bolus has been specially developed to reduce the risk of ketosis, which results from an energy deficit. The bolus contains energy, vitamins and minerals that work together to improve the animal's overall nutritional status. It also contains a Rumen Stimulant (PS) that helps stimulate the animal's rumination activity and improve rumen function. This results in better digestion of the feed, allowing the animal to extract more energy from it. Another advantage of the Direct Energy Bolus is its better acceptance compared to other energy sources. This makes it easier to give the bolus to the animal and reduces the risk of refusal. The bolus is also safe to administer and increases the animal's energy metabolism. The feeding advice for the Direct Energy Bolus is to give 1 bolus twice a day for 2 days using a suitable bolus applicator. This allows the animal to recover quickly and restores the energy balance.Direct Energy Bolus is the fastest route to results!Complementary feed (dietetic mineral feed).Benefits of Direct Energy Bolus• Rapid restoration of the energy balance.• Optimisation of the rumen flora.• In addition to energy, also contains vitamins and minerals to improve overall nutritional status.• Contains PS (Rumen Stimulant) => stimulates rumination activity and ensures better rumen function. • Better acceptance than other energy sources.• Safe to administer.• Increases energy metabolism.Feeding advice1 bolus 2 x a day for 2 days. The bolus can be administered using the white rings in the bolus applicator (36 mm). bolus promotion

  • Direct Udder Support 4 x 60 g

    Direct Bolus Direct Udder Support 4 x 60 g

    Out of stock

The Direct Udder Support Bolus is a complementary feed for dairy cattle that has been specially developed to keep the herd healthy and resilient. The Direct Udder Support promotes the natural immune defences of the animals and helps maintain good udder health by making use of the special properties of specific plants and herbs. The bolus contains black garlic, ginseng and chicory, all of which have unique properties that boost the animals' immune system and udder health. Black garlic is created when ordinary white garlic undergoes a ripening process during which a number of important conversions take place in the garlic. As a result, black garlic contains more than 2x as many antioxidants as white garlic and is more easily absorbed. In addition, it does not have the unpleasant garlic smell, so it has no effect on the smell of the milk. Ginseng is a unique herb that has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for more than 3,000 years. Ginseng boosts the immune system and has an antioxidant effect. It also has a natural calming effect that can support the animal in stressful situations. Chicory is an important source of inulin, a group of dietary fibres that have been shown to have a prebiotic effect. This means that it promotes intestinal function and a healthy gut flora. In addition, inulin strengthens the immune system and calms the gastrointestinal tract, helping cattle feel better more quickly. Feeding advice:It is recommended to give 2 boluses per animal, with the option of repeating this after 5 days in periods of increased requirements, such as at drying off or calving. The boluses are administered orally using a suitable applicator. DIRE010: The pack contains 4 boluses of 60 g each.DIRE011: The pack contains 12 boluses of 60 g each. Especially for high-yielding dairy cows. Ideal in case of low rumination activity, heat, transport.Direct Bicarbonate Bolus for dairy cows.Complementary feed (dietetic feed) for dairy cattle. For a rapid increase in rumen pH. How effective is the Bi Bolus?Scientific trials have shown that an amount of sodium bicarbonate raises the pH in the rumen. A German study shows that 20 percent of dairy farms have problems with rumen acidosis. The cost of a clinical case is estimated at 400 to 600 euros per cow. Rumen acidosis can lead to laminitis and lameness. Which cows is it suitable for?In case of acidification (acidosis) of the rumen contents.Ideal in case of low rumination activity, heat, transport. How is rumen acidosis recognised?By a low milk fat content (< 3%), or a milk fat content lower than the milk protein content. Rumen acidosis occurs on every dairy farm. The extent varies from farm to farm. High-yielding cows after calving are particularly susceptible to this condition. • Direct Calcium 12 x 94 g

    Direct Bolus Direct Calcium 12 x 94 g

    Out of stock

Direct Calcium BolusDietetic feed for dairy cows in bolus form to supplement calcium in the period around calving, to reduce the risk of milk fever and subclinical hypocalcaemia.Contains a combination of 2 readily available forms of calcium, calcium formate and calcium acetate, and provides 25 grams of available calcium per bolus. Why a calcium bolusShortly before or after calving, a dairy cow can develop a shortage of calcium reserves in the blood, because the calcium requirement rises sharply around calving. If the cow cannot replenish these reserves quickly enough, the blood calcium level can drop too low, resulting in visible milk fever symptoms such as reduced appetite and activity, cold ears and poorly functioning skeletal and organ muscles. In a larger group (40-50%), however, no symptoms are immediately visible, but the low calcium level can still have consequences later in lactation. The Direct Calcium Bolus is an easy-to-administer gelatine capsule that dissolves quickly in the rumen, so that its contents of calcium formate and calcium acetate are also released quickly. Thanks to the good availability of both forms of calcium, the calcium quickly becomes available to the cow. This ensures a gradual rise in the calcium level, which is maintained over a longer period. The perfect choice for every dairy farmer to supplement calcium in dairy cows, for an optimal start to lactation!Feeding advice1 bolus 12-24 hours before calving.1 bolus immediately after calving.1 bolus 10-12 hours after calving.1 bolus 24 hours after calving.Supportive after milk fever therapy1 bolus 2 hours after an intravenous calcium treatment.1 bolus 12 hours after an intravenous calcium treatment.Administer orally using a suitable applicator. The bolus can be administered using the white rings in the bolus applicator (36 mm). A few goats behind the house, a flock of sheep in the field, a dairy barn or two free-range pigs: if you keep ruminants or pigs, you need different tools from a dog or cat owner. This page is the starting point for all farm animals at Fidello. You will not find a loose pile of products here, but four entry points by species, so you quickly get to the teats, hoof knives, marker sticks or barn supplies that belong with your animals.

Four species, four entry points

  • Everything for your goats: rearing goat kids, hoof care, minerals and licks, and supplies for the barn and feeding area.
  • Everything for your sheep: the whole sheep year, from tupping and lambing to shearing, foot trimming and dosing.
  • Cattle: calf rearing, calving, udder and hoof care, boluses and drenching equipment for dairy and beef cattle.
  • Pigs: a small, clear selection with enrichment material, barn tools and needles.

Goats and sheep share a lot of equipment: a lamb teat, a foot-trimming knife or a drench syringe works for both. Still, each has its own section, because their care differs on important points, for example copper in minerals and the way you house them.

Before the animals arrive: registration and a place

In the Netherlands, sheep, goats, cattle and pigs fall under the rules for identification and registration: the location where the animals are kept needs a UBN (holding number), even if you keep only one or two as a hobby. Most other countries have comparable rules for holding registration, ear tags (for sheep and goats often including an electronic tag) and reporting births and movements; separate rules usually apply to pigs. Check what applies in your country and sort this out before you buy animals; the seller will usually ask about it.

Also think about a dry, draught-free shelter, sturdy fencing and a place to restrain animals calmly when you want to check hooves or give something. If you arrange that in advance, you do not have to think about it the moment an animal goes lame or a ewe starts lambing.

What do you choose on? A quick guide

First choose your species, then the time of year. In spring, sheep and goats are all about lambs and kids: bottles, teats, colostrum and warmth. In summer, fleece and flies need attention. In autumn, the ram goes in with the ewes and you get out marker sticks and a raddle harness. Hoof care and minerals continue all year round. With tools, look at the number of animals you have: for three sheep, a hand syringe or simple foot-trimming knife is enough; for a flock of dozens, an automatic drench gun or a large footbath pays off.

What you will not find here

We do not sell wormers or other veterinary medicines. Those go through your vet, who is also best placed to judge whether and when treatment is needed. At Fidello you will find the equipment around them: dosing syringes, gloves, applicators, pill givers and care products. If you have doubts about an animal's health, consult your vet first.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to register two goats in the garden?
In most countries, yes. Even if you keep one or a few goats, sheep or pigs as a hobby, the holding and animals usually have to be registered. Check the rules in your country and sort this out before the animals arrive.

Can I use sheep supplies for goats too?
For much of the equipment, yes, such as teats, foot-trimming knives and drench syringes. With minerals and licks you need to be careful, because copper requirements differ between sheep, goats and even breeds.

Do you sell wormers for sheep or goats?
No. Wormers and veterinary medicines go through your vet. We do supply the dosing and care equipment.

Where can I find supplies for calves?
Calf rearing, calving and other cattle products are in cattle.
