Clean the coop thoroughly, treat all hiding places with a product according to the label and repeat after a few days, because new mites hatch from the eggs. This selection includes products from Excellent and Knock Pest.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eHow do you recognise red mite?\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eYou usually cannot see them during the day. Signs include: chickens that do not want to go to roost in the evening, pale combs, fewer eggs, restlessness in the nest and grey or red specks and clusters in the seams. In the evening, run a white cloth along the underside of the perch; red smears indicate mites that have just fed on blood.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eA four-step approach\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003col\u003e\u003cli\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEmpty:\u003c\/strong\u003e remove bedding, nesting material and loose perches.
